Collaborative editing is not a new concept, computer supported cooperative work(CSCW)has been proposed since the80’s, has become the most vitality and prospects oftoday’s multi-disciplinary areas of frontier research. From the perspective of the CSCWapplication is divided into four categories, including a class of systems for collaborativewriting and discussion, to support members of the collaboration between the consultationand discussion, the typical application is document of collaborative writing, it is tofinalize a common document as the purpose of collaboration.The extensive use of hypertext technology is the collaborative editing system, animportant feature. Collaborative editing of hypertext structure offers an ideal data organizationmechanism, it can provide a document structure based on collaboration and distributiondivision of labor management. Hypertext documents more suitable than conventionaldocument carried out a collaborative editing, because conventional document is acontinuous linear structure, document no division in the organization means so collaborativewriting, difficult division. The hypertext document discrete nodes and hyperlinksorganizations help people when the document collaboration task partitioning,multi-members can share in a distributed environment to complete the different parts of thedocument through a hyperlink to link the various parts to maintain ultra-the integrity of textdocuments, especially those with a good level of organizational structure more conducive tolarge-scale hypertext document collaboration and storage management to achieve the divisionof labor.WEB writing some of the existing practical tools, the majority can not be effectivelycoordinated to support a team to write, one has to manually merge the manner of writinglarge documents. Some well-known large-scale tools such as Microsoft FrontPage and so on,can support based on working group writing a simple document collaboration, a team fromthe division of a fixed portion of their writing, complete with all parts of the independentpublishing to the server, but the writing is difficult to easily access documents or links to other personnel, the difficulty in various parts of after all alone with the release to the server.This approach is also relatively simple collaborative writing, more restrictive, difficult tomeet the demanding application of the level of collaboration.WEB documentation for the application of this problem combined with my line actuallyduring the project needs, I propose a directory node technology, expand the WEBdocument the level of structure and provide visual documentation of the directory node treestructure to support WEB documents collaborative editing. This paper discusses the documentcatalog node tree technology, and based on such directory tree structure of nodes WEBcollaborative editing, collaborative document management and concurrency controlstrategies.
