The Design And Implementation Of Collection Information Management System In Hunan Provincial Museum

Now lots of museums in China are hoping to build their own collection informationmanagement system.Because of the system’s speciality in museum, the collectioninformation management system must be according to the latest data standards of theState Administration of Cultural Heritage’s regulations to build. Therefore, it is difficultto find software that is readily available and applicable in the current market. Workflowtechnology makes the collection information management system in museum has thefollowing characteristic: catalogue, Interface, Function can be custom and technologicalprocess flexibility.The technology makes the collection information management systemcan manage all types of collection informations in museum, save the value of theircollections effectively, meet investment scale of museum, improve the collection researchand display levels, and also assist museums to protect important cultural assets, thusallowing the system to achieve maximum benefit.In this paper, we studies the collection information management system in HunanProvincial Museum which to be used workflow technology. According to workflowmodel, based on Hunan Provincial Museum’s system requirements, through the analysisof collection management process, We designed coordination control strategy whichbased on workflow model, applies it to the collection management process, andconstruction of the museum collection Information management system based onworkflow, and effective improve the collection management work efficiency.First of all, this paper to begin from the task demands. We analyzed the needs ofHunan Provincial Museum collection information management system, demonstrated thefeasibility and importance of the application of workflow in the collections managementprocess.Secondly, this paper analyzed in detail the overall demand and business processof the system, and give the use-case diagram analysis for each use case of the system byUML method. Thirdly, this paper provides overall architecture of the museum collection information management system, and give the design of system database and systemsecurity. The museum collection information management system introduced workflowmethods in the business process, and applies it to the collection management process, sothat the collection management efficiency has been effectively improved. Finally, thispaper studied on the key technology of the system, give a detailed analysisimplementation method of the workflow engine, and make the business process andworkflow were effectively combined. Through the test of the system, we verified theeffectiveness and reliability of this system, at last reach to the design goals of themuseum collection information management system.
