Recently,with the rapid development of wireless networks and mobile communication technology, requirements of the subscribers is increasing. Nowadays there are such kinds of wireless access technology that people can access proper network anywhere and anytime.Multi-interface mobile node may use various types of network interfaces.Therefore,it could obtain more network resources and better services to maintain communication connectivity and efficient. Whereas,because of the boom of multi-interface mobile terminals the present mobilility management technology meet huge challenges.Mobile IPv6enables a mobile node with single interface roam between networks and keep communication connectivity.Proxy Mobile IPv6protocol propose mobility management scheme controlled by the network, which is considered primary protocol in the next generation Internet.There are many difficults on management scheme and handover performance when this protocol manage mobility of multi-interface mobile nodes.Hence the multi-interface mobile node is hotly discussed in the field of proxy mobile IPv6.The thesis firstly introduces relate background of mobile IP and summarizes existing mobility management protocols.lt details protocol flow defined by the standardized Proxy Mobile IPv6and analyzes the entities functions.The following describes mobile node’s vertical handover flow in Proxy Mobile IPv6according to multi-interface feature and points out existing problems. To solve the problems above,we propose an improved scheme called preliminary banding handover method.This method prevents networks from switching to the router unavailable by means of extension of interactive information between mobile access gateway and local mobile anchor.Finally,we make the simulation of proposed handover method on NS2platform and compare with the standardized protocol.Results indicates that the proposed method obviously reduces handover latency and package loss.It has a higher vertical handover performance.
