With the popularity of mobile internet technology, more people start to use smart phones. Among a number of smart phone operating system, Android quickly occupied a large number of markets in a short time by virtue of Google’s technology support and its open source feature. Since sensor system makes the smart phones’ functions more colorful, sensor device has become one of the components essential for smart phones. Android system can support a variety of sensors and most of them are used by applications while some have been used in the Android framework layer.Based on the development and porting of Android sensor module on Qualcomm MSM7227, this paper briefly introduces the architecture of Android system and the developing environment, makes a deep analysis and research on the development of HAL and driver layer of Android sensor module, summarizes the working principle and working flow of sensor module, makes specific design and implementation on data collection, data transmission, the sleep mechanism and control of sensor device, finally implements the driver layer and HAL of Android sensor module on Qualcomm MSM7227developing board.Finally, the driver layer, HAL and application layer of the sensor modules are tested in the test section, the test results show that the functionality and performance of the sensor module have satisfied the design requirement.
