This dissertation presents the analysis of the electromagnetic scattering sea clutterfrom the target above the time-varying sea surface. Emphasis is put on studying themodels of amplitude distribution, the parameter estimation of sea clutter data obtainedby numerical simulation, the Doppler spectral characteristics, as well as the chaoticcharacteristics of sea clutter data. The main works are as follows:Four commonly used models of amplitude distribution including Rayleigh,Lognormal, Weibull and K distribution are presented, the parameter estimationmethods for above four distributions and the determination methods of the best fit forthe amplitude distribution are discussed. The Doppler shift and broaden ofbackscattered echoes are analyzed. Meanwhile, the calculation methods of thecorrelation dimension and the Lyapunov exponent for describing the chaoticcharacteristics of sea clutter are also presented.Based on the simulated sea clutter data from time-varying conducting/dielectricsea surface, and cylindrical target above time-varying dielectric sea surface, theoptimal models of amplitude distribution under different incident angle, windspeed, polarization and incident frequency are analyzed, the parameters of the models are alsoestimated, the Doppler shift and broaden of sea clutter are discussed, the correlationdimension and the Lyapunov exponent of the simulated data are also calculated, whichproves the chaotic characteristics of sea clutter.
