With the development of mobile communication technology, LTE (Long TermEvolution), which is developed by3GPP (3rdGeneration Partnership Project),isbecoming the research focus as the mainstream technology of next generation mobilecommunications. The great change of the architecture of access network meets the needof high speed, but it brings new security problems. Because of the all IP-based networkand system structure changes, LTE cannot directly use the security mechanism oftraditional mobile communication. Therefore, the research of access security issues hasvery important significance for LTE.The main content of this article the following aspects:1) Describes the basics of LTE, including the network structure, the security layers, technical features of the key architecture and the threats;2) Researches the identity-based public cryptography.analysis.And its advantagesand disadvantages are analyzed;3) Analyses the evolved packet system authentication and keyagreement(EPS-AKA) protocol which is advised in the3GPP technical specification. And pointsits security flaws.A new LTE identity-based authentication and keyagreement (LTEID-AKA) scheme based on identity-based public cryptography is proposed. Then, through the formal analysis, it proves the security of the proposed scheme;4) Designes three schemes to apply to different authentication environments, providing better flexibility and efficiency, while maintaining the expected safety.
