Design And Implementation Of Multicast Routing Protocol Based On PIM-SM

With the rapid development of Internet broadband technology, teleconferencing,videos on demand, interactive simulation and network television become the newmajor business of Internet Service Provider, which makes interactive data, audio andvideo in the Internet increace rapidly and traditional services are unable to meet theneeds. Multicast technology becomes the basic support of this business.This thesis comes from the project of the enterprise-class multicast routingsolutions in Beijing Autelan Technology Co., Ltd., with an in-depth study of the IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) and PIM-SM (Protocol Independent MulticastSparse Mode), and based on detailed analysis to achieving multicast routing, designand implementation of IGMP module and PIM-SM module is made in the thesis. Themodule IGMP is used to manage membership of users who need multicast data fromnetwork. The module PIM-SM is used to forward multicast data to the users who are inthe multicast group.A basic test of these two modules shows that the design and implementation ofIGMP and PIM-SM is feasible and stable.
