Network Online Examination System Design And Implementation

The design and development of an online examination system is presented in this paper. Firstly, the state-of-the-art and technology background of the existing examination system were introduced. Based on that the requirements of the new system were brought forward, some speculative knowledge and related techniques were mentioned as well. The new system presented in this paper is based on a B/S mode architecture and is realized by a hybrid of both JSP and Struts technologies, in which a Tomcat6.0was used as a web server, and an SQL server2000was used as a background database server. Users can use this system via browers. At the initial stage, the user’s demands was fully defined by a systematic analysis, by which the feasibility of this system was proved and the logic model was brought forward. Further, the system design was conduct and the overall functional modules was determined. After a comprehensive analysis of the data objects and their acess scheme, the structure of the database was implemented, in which the security of the data was taken into account at the same time. According to the scheme of this system, the developing procedures was specified in detail. The stability of this system was proved by a long-playing testing operation.This system has a friendly interface and supports multi-users fullfill their tasks simultaneously, such as the creation of test papers, online testing, automatic grading and the managements of users and test questions database. This new syestem provides prodigious advantages over traditional testing modes. Further efforts should be committed, so that the real applications of this system can be achieved as soon as possible.
