Design And Implementation Of Sirt Online Examination System

With the rapid development of Internet, all kinds of applications which base on Internet are attended by people gradually, and the online examination system based on Web, and developed gradually with the computer network technology and database technology come into being in this condition. Depending on the networks, it can be used at any time to load the examinations for students, it is an extension of the traditional method; therefore in the future, it is a natural trend to realize of online examinations, and which not only facilitates the examination of students, but also is very convenient in records management and user management. With its efficient use of campus networks resources, it can offer good service for management of teaching at school.This online examination system is developed for SIRT(Shijiazhuang Institute of Railway and Technology). It is based on WEB technology and ASP technology, VBScript scripting language, JavaScript scripting language and HTML hypertext language. With the actual necessary, we introduce the overall structure and function modules of this system; and then through the system architecture design, table design and front-end development, we built this online examination system that is based on B/S multi-storey structure to ASP technology and SQL-based back-end database, and include the following functions: information management candidates, test management, online test, automatically evaluation, the user management features. At implementation methods, we use ADO in ASP components to realize the connection between web pages and database, field matching to implement the log in function for students and teachers, random function to implement the automatic question extraction for exams, time limit treatment based server clock. This system basically meets the conventional requirements and the guiding ideology of the initial design.In this paper, we outlined an examination system design process which based on the B/S, due to the lack of space we can not do everything, but the development process involved in key points and major difficulties, as well as the solutions is described. Finally, sum up the system's characteristics and advantages and weaknesses, and future prospects for the development and application and the future works.
