The rapid progress of mobile communication and Internet technology changes people’s life style and life quality dramatically.More and more people access Internet by wireless means. Thus, wireless router becomes a hot research topic.This thesis studies WiFi router based on the design and implementation of OpenWrt wireless router. According to the requirement analysis, system is designed on the base of Marvell Kirkwood series high performance board, OpenWrt operating system and trust network connection architecture. OpenWrt and other modules are transplanted to implement the routing functions such as WiFi wireless networking, user identity authentication, Web-based management, PPPoE, VPN, route selection, firewall, QoS, and etc.Wirless network security is an important innovation of this thesis. TCM module is transplanted to the wireless router. PHP and SQLite based user and device registration is implemented.. Radiius server is set up to authenticate device. With all the above measures taken, trusted network access is guaranteed.Software, hardware, modules and processes are tested according to the embedded system testing methods and process.
