In this paper we discuss hardware and software design and implementation of the students information management system with the fingerprint identification as the foundation. With analysising of the system architecture this system is divided into task management center and client systems, then we illustrate the external device of the systems,such as fingerprint reader、card reader、USB rotating camera.The task management center is the core of the system which has to achieve several functions include information collection and verification of students and teachers,course scheduling,student attendance management,course grade statistics and printing.The design of the client system has the advantage of high functional integrated level and good portability,which achieve functions as data import and export, student attendance management and USB camera monitoring.The task management center is composed by a computer and high-performance single chip STC12C5A60S2.We also program based on object-oriented technology by in VS2008which make the system highly expansible,stable and real-time and the system provides a rich of interfaces for updating.The client system is designed with S3C2440processor and WINCE6.0operation system, with the advantages of low power consumption,high reliability, flexibility and other advantages.
