GIS(Geographical Information System) is a kind of decision support system, bysurveying and mapping measurement as the foundation, the database data storage anduse as data sources, computer programming as a platform of global spatial analysisreal-time technology. The geographic information system and other information systemare the main difference between the storage and processing of information through thecode is geography, the geographical position and the related with the position ofgeophysics attribute information become an important part of information retrieval. Inthe geographic information system, the real world is expressed as a series ofgeographical elements and geographic phenomenon, these geographic features, at leastby space location information and the reference position information two components. This paper firstly expounds the background of the subject and the graphic displaysubsystem practical significance which is the key position in. the field of the GIS field.Secondly using the software engineering design concept to the design graphic displaysubsystem structure, according to the characteristics of the GIS especially required dataorganization, design the spatial data management class. The double buffer Class wasdesigned by researching in the double buffering technology theory, in view of the GISgraphic rapidly display characteristics using MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes,Microsoft base class library). The detailed design and realize the Douglas Peuckeralgorithm and Weiler-Atherton enhancement algorithm and the visualization layer theobject class. Finally, based on the design developping an application example to verifythe advantage of graphic display subsystem.Subsystems can effective integration and management of spatial data, to speed upthe displaying of graphic, improve the work efficiency of the whole GIS system.
