As the software test is becoming more and more important, the importance oftesting is shown stage by stage, automation test tool development and application hasbecome the universal tendency. The application of testing tool can not only improve thetest quality, reduce the testing process of the duplication of work, more conducive to therealization of automation testing. In this paper, redhat company automation testing toolsas the basis, for a commercial software, research and design of a Django basedautomation testing tool.The paper uses Django MVC design model as a framework, based on Pythonlanguage, combined with automated testing tool with its own characteristics, throughthe network installation of software server COBBLER, software automation testingframework STAF, task monitoring Watchdog, database mapping mechanism of ORMmodule design and application, implemented a software automatic testing tool VirtLab.The Cobbler is used to install machine system through network; STAF is mainly used toachieve the automatic testing, automatic generation of test documents; Watchdog ismainly to the completion of the testing machine monitoring, so that when the machinemeets the questions the system can be reset and restore; ORM realized VirtLab machineconfiguration parameter saving, add and delete test cases, query test results. Findings bythe trial within the company, meet the design requirements.The design and implementation of automated testing tool, not only to fully meetthe internal requirements, but also greatly improve the tests personnel’s workingefficiency, for the company to save a lot of human and financial resources, the results toachieve on the related software automation test tool development have a certainreference value.
