Mashup is a rapid way to construct new applications by combining data, presentation or functionality from two or more web services. With portable terminal devices, such as smart phones and tablets, are becoming more and more popular, people can access a mashup application using a variety of terminal devices. However, the existing mashup development platforms are usually designed for a particular type of terminal device, and the application developed by such platforms cannot work well in a variety of terminals at the same time.To address this problem, a mashup platform, which is based on a series of terminal convergence mechanisms, was proposed in this paper. The platform, like other existing mashup development platforms, has a lot of advantages, such as supporting lightweight development environment, visualizing development interface and so on. What’s more, with a series of adaptive terminal convergence mechanisms, Mashup applications developed by this platform can be used in different terminal equipment.By analyzing the difference between heterogeneous terminal devices, the main terminal convergence technology used in the platform, considering page layout, data format and page controls three aspects, will generate final mashup page that adapted to the current terminal device dynamically. The page interpreter designed for a particular terminal will execute customized page analytic process. The page layout transfer algorithm, which is based on a directed acyclic graph layout model, uses predefined rules to realize layout transformation for different types of terminal device. The data format transfer algorithm is used to reduce data redundancy and enhance effective data rate, thus the converted data format are suitable to different levels of bandwidth network environment. On this basis, a case study, aiming to evaluate the platform’s effectiveness, was presented in this paper.
