Nowadays, smart handheld devices have extreme performance, though due to thelimitations of screen size, it is difficult to solely implement complex tasks. This papertakes the advantages of handheld and desktop devices to explore a cross-deviceinteraction, meanwhile designs a new presentation systems named NeoPresenter.Traditional slideware imposes a singular, sequential, frame-by-frame presentation stylethat best suits static and linear content. Not only does this style fail to well demonstrateacademic presentation which contains hierarchical content, it also lacks intuitiveinteraction. NeoPresenter takes a hand-held device as a control panel while desktopdevice as a display. Handheld device separately controls demo content switching. A setof network-based technology is designed according to the node tree structure, withsemantic transition animation representation system, organize the content hierarchy.NeoPresenter intends to smooth the communication between presentation giver andaudience.
