This article introduces the direction of automotive navigation which isbasing on internet and web browser. In2011Shanghai Auto Show, ToyotaAuto brought G-BOOK system; GM Auto introduced On-Start system; andFord auto also provided its Sync system. So far, all of these three systemshave been put in market. Actually, these three systems are the future modelof automotive infotainment system. We believe, one automotiveinfortainment system which includes Blue Tooth; Voice Recognition; InternetAccess and Network navigation functions will be provided in the market verysoon. Besides above functions, the HMI and user operation method also willbe changed a lot. In order to make driver safe, all operation will base onvoice recognition, this function will make driver complete all operationswithout moving eyes on console. This design is issued under above background. The main subject is toinvesgate the hardware and software design on internet navigation system. Ilist main tasks of this design.1. How to access internet?2. How to implement navigation function at low level network speed?3. How to provide easy and effective destination input method?4. How to design Web Browser?5. Navigation related test.Key Technologies: 1. Internet Access via Blue tooth phone.2. Database system for storing navigation related data, when weeknetwork signal3. Destination input via Cloud database library4. Provide the same function and feature as normal navigation set. This article introduces the DUN/PAN protocols of blue tooth teconology.Via these two protocols, Radio system can set smart phone as modem toaccess internet. Besides above, embedded Linux operation system has alsobeen introduced. At the end of this article, I provide navigation test methodwhich includes bench test and road test.
