With the rapid development of information construction, it is urgent for the large-scaleenterprises and government departments to integrate their own application systems andconstruct the uniform data centers. Thus how to achieve a uniform management andtransparent access to the complex and heterogeneous data has become one of the hotresearch topics, so that various data service platforms providing unified management anduniform access to data rise. It is of great significance to ameliorate the current dataservice platform and improve its efficiency of data management and access.We found out some deficiencies about service publishing efficiency and data accessefficiency on the current data service platforms, based on a comparative analysis of itsarchitecture, design and implementation. Under the guidance of SOA technology, weimplement a novel data service platform, at the same time we improve the performanceof current platforms on the following two aspects. Firstly, considering about thecomplexity of Web Services publishing process a responsibility-chain model is adopted.This model provides a unified Web Services publishing interface, so that decreases thecomplexity of publishing process and ensures the flexible loadings. This model alsoachieves centralized management and control of the publishing process in the uniforminterface.Secondly, the access to data is improved on the current platforms. In the dataacquisition process, the metadata from data resources is stored by database table form,the data service is adopted by Web Services approach based on metadatabase. In this way,the newly-designed platform implements the unified management and transparent accessto structured and semi-structured data. It also shields the complexity from data shape anddata location, and to some extent, improves the data access efficiency. In addition, aservice bus and basic data services are designed and implemented based on SOA. Thebasic data services include add,delete,modify and query operation on data and the servicebus can take charge of service requests monitoring, dispatching services on the basis ofrequests and safety control on data access. The experimental result shows that data service platform based on SOA can fullyembody the unified management and transparent access to heterogeneous and distributeddata. It also achieves the dynamic expansion for data resource and all kinds of services,and improves the efficiency of data management and data access.
