In the Chinese publishing industry market development process, the establishment ofbook distribution center changed the situation with previous publications logistics reliesentirely done by hand. Although with the huge investment, the operation effect is notsatisfactory. Compared with book distribution center in Europe and the United States evenin East Asian, it also has big disparity. How to effectively improve the efficiency of bookdistribution center becomes an urgent problem to be solved.This thesis aims at the problems of logistics management, choosing a medium scalebook distribution center as the research object, from the perspective of productionoperation and management, using TOC (Theory of Constraints) thought and methods,effectively integrated logistics and distribution management technology and logisticsautomation technology, to study how to improve the efficiency of book distribution center.First of all, reference the development and the status of book distribution center both athome and abroad, the difference between distribution center and other industry logistics isanalyzed, determining the efficiency evaluation index. Secondly, according to the bookdistribution center operation characteristics, using the TOC and Five Focusing Stepsidentify the distribution center of bottleneck. Finally, the strategy of improving theefficiency of the distribution center is proposed. In this paper, it also creates reactionsorting equilibrium model, and through the experimental data it demonstrates the validityof the model.This study is not only an important theoretical significance to guide improving theefficiency of book distribution center, but also guiding with operation practice ofautomatic logistics system in large book distribution center. To promoting and realizingpublishing industry’s socialization and mercerization, improving the overall efficiency ofthe logistics supply chain, conforming to the national about developing the cultureindustry energetically economic policy, all these things have practical significance. At thesame time, it also has reference value to other flow-through commercial chain distributioncenter management.It will have a good applied foreground.
