In the process of current iron and steel industry production, blast furnace slagproduced by the iron-making had consumed sixty percent of all the energy in iron and steelindustry. A lot of silicate included in blast furnace slag will help to form a kind ofamorphous solid when the blast furnace slag is mixed with cooling water. And this kind ofamorphous solid is very similar with the sand used in construction. Therefore, the blastfurnace slag after being disposed can be used in construction as sand in the cement. So, theresearch on the methods of recycling blast furnace slag is very important. Water quenchingmethod is the main way to recycling blast furnace slag.This dissertation has taking Baotou Steel Group blast furnace slag granulation drivemonitoring and control system as a background. The original product line uses aconventional centralized control system. A MODICON PLC as the main controller hasadopted in the original system. There are mainly following problems existed in the originalsystem: Driving equipment and transducer in the field are still connected with PLC by I/Olines. There are too many cables,also interference problems is very outstanding in theprocess of sending the signal. The whole production line was controlled by a PLC, theproduction efficiency is very low.In this design,we made the following improvement:Employing the field bustechnology to transform the original system and using Profibus-DP and Modbustechnology to control transmission equipment in system can make the whole transmissionsystem form a network;Profibus-Modbus bridge in the control system which supports theProfibus protocol equipment and support Modbus RTU protocol agreement betweendevices in communication protocol conversion function, allowing the support of differentcommunication protocols to pass data between devices and gives the design idea. Designof monitoring system WinCC,The snoop ware WinCC can gather the process data of fieldtransmission equipment in real time, and handle the alarm information in time.
