As a new type of inertial measurement devices, fiber-optic gyroscope plays animportant role for the development of strapdown inertial navigation system. With thenavigation information fusion technology continuing progress, in recent years the research ofusing error-modulation technology of high precision rotation of fiber optic has become ahotspots for strapdown system. The article made a detailed study for the system’s hardwareplatform design, which is one of the key technology in fiber optic gyro strapdown system.This article made a compact CPCI peripheral interconnect bus Rotary fiber strapdownsystems hardware platform by the background of Rotary fiber strapdown systems forengineering.The platform has the characteristics of small size, structure compact, highreliability, and it can work in very harsh environmental conditions in General. The platformalso has strong environmental adaptability and electromagnetic compatibility. The content ofthis article include system principle analysis, hardware platform design, device selection anddesign of the hardware schematics and PCB implementation, hardware platform features andnavigation application process described in the system.This article first proceed from an engineering background, discourses the concept ofstrapdown inertial navigation system, computer bus technology development discourse, andindicate the significance of fibre-optic strapdown system hardware platform by usingCPCI bus technology.Then through the comparison of several representative of hardware platform design ofstrapdown system, combined with rotary fiber strapdown systems the actual demand, raisedthe subject of CPCI bus technology of Rotary fiber hardware platform design of strapdownsystem and working mechanism and innovative at all.Then design the hardware of strapdown system hardware platform in optical fiber byusing CPCI bus technology, and realized the system including fiber optic IMU IMU signalacquisition, photoelectric conversion circuit for EO and OE modules, CPCI interface circuitand hot-swap circuit design, FPGA peripheral circuit design, integrated navigationinformation access and rotate signal control and the expansion of storage. And focus on capabilities for a detailed discussion of hardware platforms, based onfeature implementation and capabilities of a system design method, complete FPGA internallogic design, signal acquisition of gyroscope and accelerometer, photoelectric conversion,PCI9656the local interface design and implementation, and introductes the applicationprocess for the system.At last,presents the configuration of the hardware platform and tested the systemhardware platform with Signal Tap II Logic Analyzer.
