With the development of science technology and the progress of informationtechnology, automatic identification technology has been widely used, and greatlyimproved the efficiency of various industries. The two-dimensional bar code as a new kind ofautomatic identification technologies has been widely used in more and more areas, so inthis paper the Data Matrix bar coding technology, the key to decoding technology and imagepre-processing technology would be studied in-depth.When the bar code image is captured, may be affected by various conditions, andtherefore the ideal bar code will not be got. Hence using a series of image processing isnecessary (such as grayscale, image denoising, binarization and bar code image positioning)for image pre-processing. To overcome the traditional slow image processing methods, thestorage space and other defects, this paper used the wavelet decomposition combined theotsu threshold method.For the six different coding schemes of Data Matrix bar code, the ASCII encoding andAuto encoding will be focused on in this paper. Auto coding scheme which was usedeffectively to solve the image space and the information capacity per unit area density.Because of the identification error or barcode own problems (such as tarnish the imageinformation is missing) after identification by bar code is prone to error, so at the same timea Reed-Solomon (RS) error correction algorithm is introduced which can correct the error andimprove image recognition rate. In addition, the decoding system with error correction hasbeen researched to both ASCII and Auto coding schemes, which is based on the bar codedecoding algorithm combined RS error correction algorithms. Finally, the drugs applicationhas been designed for the application in the field of medicine with the Data Matrix bar code.Finally, the Data Matrix bar coding system, coding system, drug application isdesigned,which is in the Windows7system and based on Microsoft Visual C++6.0platform.The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that: the image processing method inthis paper can achieve a good result; ASCII encoding method and Auto two-dimensional barcoding functions can be achieved; the corresponding decoding has their own error correction,while achieve the accurate decoding in the condition of the ordinary camera captured DataMatrix bar code. In summary, the two-dimensional bar code can be compiled effectivelywith the encoding and decoding methods in this paper, and the design of drugs and other applications in the medical field has practical value to a certain extent.
