The mobility of subscriber is supported by the IEEE802.16standard. The subscriber ispowered by battery, hence, power-saving is an importance research topic in IEEE802.16e basedwireless network. Three catagories of sleeping modes is introduced in IEEE802.16e, i.e.,power-saving class Ⅰ (PSCⅠ), power-saving class Ⅱ(PSC Ⅱ) and power-saving class III (PSCⅢ).This dissertation aims at PSC Ⅱand focus on energy consumption problem under delayconstraint. The main research contents and innovations are as follows:1. A two-stage reliable multicasting scheme (TRMS) is proposed, and for reducing theenergy, MS shortens the listening window and prolong the sleeping window according to thesituation of receiving data.2. The network coding has been introduced to rebroadcast the data of lose, which makesreceiver works out the lose data without destroy the delay, and this method don’t need the senderto retransmission and the receiver to ensure, also the MS which receives data with a highpossibility can enter sleeping mode earlier than others which receives data with a low possibilityfor saving energy. What’s more, simulation experiment and performance evaluation for TRMS are presented. The results of the simulation show that the proposed TRMS exhibits more effective in thereducing energy consumption and the packet loss rate.
