With the development of embedded technology, embedded system has been used in manyindustrial fields. Security monitoring is one of the hottest uses to. By picture capture, datacompression and information transmission, it can provide the remote monitoring function.Embedded video monitoring device has been widely used in enterprises. However, themanagement operating has many problems. Like difficult to operate, hard to understand. So, inorder to make the management and maintenance easily, we design a web based managementsystem.The embedded device takes ARM9based32bit RISC processing GM8180chip as itsmain control chip, and Linux as its operating system. On this environment, deign the capture,compression and storage procedures. Then design a management system, including web server’sprinciple, transplant and dynamic web technology. At last, realize the management system,including the flow chart of program, design of web page and CGI program’s coding.The innovation point of this paper is putting the current popular B/S structure model intotraditional video monitoring field, make Web technology and embedded technology combine.This management system will make the management operating more easily, and provide a newdirection to the embedded technology.After the implementation of the management system to be tested, the embedded systemhas be proved that it can control the device working in LAN, and reach the industrial standard.
