The eyes are the most important in human perception of organs. Studies show that about80%of the information in the brain is obtained through the eyes. However, some people’s visualfunction has some problems because of congenital or acquired reasons. At the same time, aspeople living environment and lifestyle changes and life rhythm speeding up, the crowd visualfunction issues are becoming increasingly serious, visual fatigue in the incidence of a diseasealso is rising year by year. At present, the vision examination and treatment equipment usingflat-panel display screen can not provide enough view angle and does not accord with the humaneye look matter natural state shortcomings in vision clinic environment which influences theclinical results of visual function. To solve these problems, based on the independent researchand development of a hemispheric-projection display device, which introduces the geometricdistortion caused by the spherical screen and inclined projection, this paper presents a sphericalinclined projection correction method based on projective texture mapping in order to let theobserver has a realistic view of images with no/little distortion, thereby improving visualfunction examination and treatment environment. With the assumption that human eyes andprojectors meet pinhole model, the method builds three-dimensional computer model of theprojection system with OpenGL according to its geometric parameters, maps the projected image(as a texture) to the screen through setting the projection matrix with the current view matrix ofthe observer, and obtains the pre-distorted image through setting model view matrix by regardingthe projector as an observer. Finally, the pre-distorted image is applied in the projection systemof the vision examination and treatment equipment for geometric correction. This article mainlyand results are as follows:1. The paper introduces the development present situation of the vision examination andtreatment equipments and their advantages and disadvantages, then according to their shortage,designs a hemispheric-projection display device; 2. It introduces the related ophthalmic medical theory such as amblyopic, expounds theprojective texture mapping and the other related technology in the research of spherical inclinedprojection correction method based on projective texture mapping;3. The paper designs and builds the three-dimensional computer model of the projectionsystem of the hemispheric-projection display device, and presents a spherical inclined projectioncorrection method based on projective texture mapping in order to realize image geometriccorrection;4. It applies the correction method to the diagnosis and treatment of visual function areas,and verifies the effectiveness through the experiment. The experimental results show that thedistortion is small and the process is almost in real-time, which meet the requirements ofimmersion in visual function examination and treatment, and reduces the outside disturbance,and it has lots of ethical significance for improving the diagnosis and treatment of visual functioneffectiveness and efficiency.
