As the key link of the license plate recognition system,license plate tilt correction is always a challenging problem of license plate recognition,tilt the license plate is a direct result of the license plate recognition accuracy rate.As the part of the IP (Intellectual Property) core work of license plate recognition,in this paper, the license plate tilt correction algorithm based on FPGA,building the EP4CE11529device as the core processor,usingVerilog HDL to designe license plate tilt correction software performs the following functions:to calculating the tilt angle by Hough transform;calculating the trigonometric function values by CORDIC algorithm;resampling the image by bilinear.The experimental results validated the effectiveness of the method.
