With the popularity of network applications and the development of network service, requiring to improve the performance of the network equipment and the quality of the network service. As the basic means to guarantee network performance, high reliability and high availability, network testing increasingly widespread concern in the IP network development and construction process. The automated network testing technology could resolve much work which manual test could achieve difficultly or could never be achieved, fundamentally reduce the workload of testers, to improve testing efficiency. The emergence of the technology of network automation test reduce the workload of the testers fundamentally, and then the efficiency of test has been improved.The topics of the current development of the network testing technology and room for improvement, and analysis of several key points of the field test automation technology:test methodology, the system framework for automated testing, automated test script development techniques. Combined with the low degree of network testing features. On this basis, the design of a TCL-based automated test systems of the OSPF protocol.This thesis’ automation test system apply the existing network testing tools SpirentTestCenter and my own experience in testing work. Its versatility and scalability is very strong and the automation test system could test for the devices which from different manufacturers to improve the shortcoming of the unity in traditional testing tools. This thesis firstly analyze from the demands of network testing system, on this basis, he thesis presents the design idea of entire automated testing system, and then construct the framework for automated test systems. In addition, taking the OSPF protocol as a test object, combining of the testing methods of protocol conformance, this paper designs a reasonable testing program. According to this test program, using the explanatory strong TCL language, designer develops a series of protocol conformance test automation scripts. Finally, the system test results carried out a detailed analysis and comparison, and designs an automation script management system. The practice has proved that entire automated test system could greatly improves the accuracy and efficiency than the traditional manual testing technology, and there are significant improvements in test efficiency.
