Since the21century beginning, our society has ushered in a period of rapid development.The road infrastructure is rapidly improved, and the transportation industry is rapidly growing.All these development provides a good basis to people’s travel, which expresses the rapiddevelopment of the geographic information services. People can obtain the information of localstreets, route, and weather through the geographic information services on the internet. But,there are still shortages that the methods are not convenient enough, and do not have the realtime kinematic positioning function. Thus, a new geographic information services system isrequired to achieve the mobile, easy to operate, and real time services.With the development of3G technology, the transmission rate of smart-phone has beengreatly increased, the smart-phone is act as the double role of the communication terminal andthe internet terminal. This mobile geographic information terminal is designed based on theAndroid which is one of smart phone operating system, and this design solved the problemsmentioned above very well.The Google company has released Google Maps Service in2005, which can provide thebran-new service mode with three view drawing to people all over the world, which can furnishthe function of searching and step scaling. Then the Google company also launched Android in2007, which is a truly, open, mobile device integrated platform. And it is exciting that GoogleMaps makes a good secondary breakthrough on Android. So, we plan to meliorate this mobilegeographic information terminal based on the Android as a mobile device platform, because ofthe openness of the Android platform and the perfection of Google Maps service.First,this article makes the requirement analysis for the whole system, and puts forwardmain functions which the system need to achieve, include seven functions: map display, mylocation, location searching, route plotting, weather searching, phone tracing and location recordlist, and also give the overall process design of the system. Then, briefly represent thearchitecture of the mobile open development platform named Android, describes the resourceand basic components of the Android application, and all these research provides the theoreticalfoundation for the following achievement of the system. Subsequently, this paper studies on theslice technology, the coding technology of the Google Maps, and its application on the Androidplatform, then studied on the analysis of the XML document. Meanwhile, realizes the design ofthe equipment orientation and the map control. Then sends the latitude and longitudeinformation by making use of the DDMS tools. Moreover, taking friendly and humanity as the principle for the interface design, the overall interface and other interfaces of each function ofthe system is designed, and the block diagram of the detail implementation process are shownfollowing. The inner database named SQLite is utilized to save some location information, sothe article makes a design for data storage of the SQLite database, and gives the managementprocess design of the system database. At last, this paper expounds the target of the systemfunction, describes the process of the function implementation, and makes a detail introductionfor the process of the function implementation which is described by words and with the blockdiagram as the instruction. And then, shows the result of the function implementation, andmakes use of the screenshot to show the finally achievement of system.
