The pressure in the pipeline is the key factor which influences the safe operation of thepipeline. It will cause the rupture and leakage of the pipeline when the pressure is too high.However, it will lead to the instability and invalidation of the pipeline, abnormaltransmission of the gas when it’s too low. So, the control of the normal temperature gaspipeline is mostly the control of the pressure. Through controlling the opening of the valve,we can regulate the gas flow, keep the pressure in a safe range, then ensure the continuityand integrity of the pipeline operation.In this paper, a pneumatic valve pressure control solution is proposed based on thefuzzy control theory. First of all, the selection of the components, including the controlvalve, the valve positioned and the pressure sensors has been accomplished, and a pipelinepressure control system has been designed and established. Second, the mathematical modelof the controlled object is established according to the structure of the pneumatic valve andvalve positioned, and the pressure-flow characteristics of the pipeline. Then, according tothe mathematical model of the controlled object, a fuzzy PID controller is designed toimplement the pressure control of the system. Finally, the whole pressure control system issimulated through the SIMULINK.By the simulation results of the SIMULINK, we can clearly see that the designed fuzzyPID controller has played a good control effect. And it provides a solid theoreticalfoundation of the field debugging later.
