Anologal TV becoming Digital TV is a trend of the world, which is another revolution afterblack and white television to color TV. In recent years, with the integration oftelecommunications networks, cable tv networks and the internet, providing communicationsbusiness such as voice, data, image on computers will be a good industry and it will bring hugecommercial profits. But recently the domestic digital TV hardware manufacturers mainly focuson the development of digital TV set-top box and IPTV network TV box, while there are littledigital TV related products for personal computers. On the other hand, though different kinds ofdigital TV have different kinds of transmission modulation codes, the viedo formats are allMPEG2when they are broadcasted at the end. Format MPEG2is a standard viedo format whichcan be broadcasted directly on personal computers. Thus it is urgent to find a good solution ofwatching digital TV on personal computers without replace the old equipments and avoidingconsuming a lot of manpower and material resources. Digital TV card and Digital TV dongle isthe perfect soluction. It allows the personal computer to have the same functions as a digital TV.The main research contents and results are as follows:1. Complete the software design of digital TV player on Windows XP system enviromentbased on DirectShow and Broadcast Driver Architecture technique.
