The atmosphericlaser communication system, inter-satellite communication system and CATV systems need the signal power more than1watt. The output power of traditional EDFA is milliwatt and can’t meet the requirements of the output power more than1watt,the EYCDFA can enhance the power,and reach watt level.In this paper, we mainly researched the1550nm fiber amplifier with structure of MOPA, and analyzed the spectrum of the output. We employed external modulation DFB semiconductor laser as seed source, designed a fiber amplifier wiht two-stage hybrid structure to amplify the output laser of seed source, that is erbium-doped fiber amplifier and as the pre-amplifier and an erbium/ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier as the main-amplifier. In the experiment, by optimizing the length of erbium/ytterbium co-doped gain fiber and increasing pump power to make the output power raised. At the signal power of10mW, the maximum pump power of the EDFA was318.58mW, total pump power of the EYCDFA was11.47W,14m length of the EYCDF, we got the2.11W output power.
