Study And Implement On Online Course Selection System Based On Load Balancing

With the large-scale reform of China’s higher education system and colleges’merger and expansion, course setting is becoming more complicated. And theworkload of teaching management is also substantially increasing owing to theannually increasing number of student and the change from academic system to thecredit system. The students’ course selection is an important part of teachingmanagement; however, it has become difficult for the traditional manual mode to meetthe requirements, therefore, all colleges and universities are developing courseselection system so as to improve office efficiency and teaching flexibility.Lin Yi University Yishui College has nearly4,000students. In recent years theoriginal course selection has been operated manually by the educationaladministration personnel. At the beginning of every semester, the students are beinformed of the courses and corresponding teachers previously, and then allinformation will be gathered in teaching affairs office, who will arrange teachers,classrooms and teaching equipments, etc. The data is cumbersome and the workloadis very heavy so it’s easy to make errors, which will result in teaching resources waste.What is worse, it will lead to teaching accidents. So it has become a top priority todesign an online course selection system.After analyzing the study background, aims, meanings and the current situations,this paper introduces a series of techniques, including B/S architecture, ASP.NETprogramming techniques, SQL Server database, ADO.NET data access technologyand many other supporting techniques. Taking every step of course selection intoconsideration, this system makes a detailed analysis on the requirements and functionsand based on ASP.NET programming techniques and B/S architecture, SQL Server asits database, while adopting load balancing techniques and server allocationmanagement strategy, it aims to solve the network congestion problem. Integratinginformation technology, networking and automation, this system is sure to meet the teaching requirements. Takes the campus network as the medium, this system enablesteachers, students and teaching administration personnel to complete the tasks ofcourse selection, query and modification at any time and at any terminal.At the end of this paper, it makes a summary of the study and looks forward tothe future of the design. As to the running effect, with friendly interface, easyoperation and the close connection with scores query system and courses settingsystem, it has improved the management quality and efficiency greatly and promotedthe modernization of academic affairs management.
