As the increasing development of the economic level, people are pursuing abetter life with comfort, convenience as well as intelligence. Plenty of householdappliances are used widely in life, bringing about great convenience, whereas troublesare coming out. As the lack of mutual protocols and standards among differentelectronics or different brands, troubles in general management and control makeusers a headache.With the inspiration of the growing development of XMPP in instantcommunication area, this paper definite a language. It’s a declarative language whichis abstract, unified and based on XMPP protocol, and is applied to describe the basicinformation of the electronics and the control instructions. Therefore a controlterminal for instruction explanation and transformationand based on the protocolmentioned above is going to develop, paving the way of household appliancesmanagement.In this paper, firstly, the development and front view of smart home is introduced,which analyses the importance and urgency of the smart home research, home andabroad. Then, the relevant technologies, including communication protocol,Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) and the features of ExtensibleMarkup Language (XML), providing the theoretical basis and fully technical supportfor defining the appliance data transmission standard are demonstrated in this paper.After that, XCITL, which is employed to describe the data and orders in thispaper, is proposed. Moreover, the content, grammar foundation and features ofXCITL are defined and described in this part. Based on the definitions, the datatransmission standard on account of XCITL is formed, which divides the basicoperations,containing equipment binding, information acquiring, working situation, and fixing working situation, to manage the equipment. Meanwhile, the standarddetails the feedback information of the equipment, whether the successful operationsor the failure ones,which are defined and divided in different kinds of mistakes,giving the reference for users.In the next part of this paper, the need of control system are analyzed, includingits overall structure, functions, the research on communication mechanism and whychoosing Android as the development platform. The solutions of system server anddesktop client terminal are researched in this paper.Then, analogue simulation iscarried out, the result of which proves the validity and feasibility of this researchproject, providing a brand new solution for smart home remote control.At last, the conclusion sums up the content and previews the coming research.For the lack of mutual protocols and standards among different electronics ordifferent brands, this paper discussed and resolved the following problems: definingthe language describing the appliance data, and forming the information transmissionstandard based on XMPP.The research project applies the XMPP in appliance management area, breakinga new way for research on appliance management and making standards of appliancecontrol information, which enrich the prospect of instant messaging application,making significant research and practical sense.
