The Media's Attitude Towards The Appreciation Of The Renminbi

Sino-US exchange rate problem has become one of the focal problems of theworld economic development, and how to solve this problem will also affect theeconomic development process of the two countries, as well as the world in the future.As the RMB exchange rate formation mechanism has been reformed since2005, itis a norm that RMB continues to appreciate in a small step. RMB appreciation affectsthe national economy and people’s lives in different degrees. RMB appreciationchanges people’s life quietly. RMB Appreciation means RMB will be more valuablecompared with the relevant foreign currency. RMB appreciation will change people’slife and affect the national economy in a deep way.Based on the first half of2010RMB to the dollar "currency war", this dissertationintegrated use case study, content analysis, text analysis and other methods, analyzethe "currency war" related media reports of the two countries’, compare and analyzethe agenda setting which formed in the Chinese media and U.S. media reported thesame economic event.
