Rapid growth of digital technology and wide availability of network access lead to digital contents getting much easier. Digital contents can be easily duplicated and have the characteristic of easy transmission. Those contents can be used, copied and spread without limit until those contents has been protected. Especially various types of social platforms rise in recent years, such as Blog, Micro-Blog and Social Networking site, they can easily forward digital content suchlike text, image, audio and video without the authorization of creators anytime and anywhere through the mobile communication device. So it is necessary to develop a digital rights management (DRM) system for mobile social platform. To make digital contents creation, distribution and consumption controllable and prevent them from unauthorized copying and transmission, the global standardization organizations and manufacturers do a large amount of research in digital rights management (DRM) technology. Among all current DRM technology standard, OMA DRM standards developed by Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) is the most mature with the maximum participants and the greatest influence.OMA only defines the DRM system architecture and the function of right issuer, content issuer and other components, but not involve how the DRM system can be combined with the existing network elements for the mobile social platform as a whole to provide users with digital copyright protection. A DRM system that integrates the DRM system and the mobile social platform needs to be developed.First, this paper studies the standards of OMA DRM and proposes a suite of DRM solutions based on the mobile networks, including the design of the interface of DRM system and CP, ISMP and mobile social platform. These solutions effectively integrate the DRM system and the network elements in the mobile networks and provide the digital right protection to the digital contents. The solutions are compliant with OMA DRM standards, with good compatibility and scalability. Finally, the paper verifies the DRM solutions for the mobile social platform and tests functionality of the system, in order to prove its feasibility. In conclusion, we summarize our work and discuss the next step for future research.
