Industrial robot is an important equipment in the modern flexible production and machining, for the needs of small and medium-sized enterprise, the paper designed and manufactured a kind of prototype of general-purpose robot which conforms to performance requirements, the vibration test is done to prototype. The research has clinical significance for design and manufacture of the robot body.The technology of computer modeling and simulation is extensive used in the robot body design process, ANSYS optimizing module is used to optimize the robot arm. The robot arm model is built by ANSYS parameters design language(APDL), the thickness and width of the robot arm are optimized under the condition satisfied stiffness of arm, in order to reduce the weight of the robot arm. In the paper robot prototyping design ideas and the machining of the key components are analyzed, some effective methods that ensure the accuracy of prototyping are gained.The paper introduces the dimension chain calculation methods and several assembly methods to improve the accuracy of product assembly. In Matlab Monte Carlo Simulation is used to calculate the closed ring size of the assembly robot arm. According to the results of the dimension Chain calculation, the appropriate method of assembly is selected to determine the accuracy of the assembly. A robot vibration test systems is built to test the vibration of the prototype, then each mode natural frequency of the two different pose robots is gained.
