With the transformation of journalism, the social status of Chinese reporters has changed obviously since the reform and opening up. Double attribute and multiple roles of Chinese media make the reporters identity confusion. Under the increasingly fierce competition of news, the reporters are bearing both of the pressure of work and the personal safety risks. At the same time, they are facing a variety of temptations. As a result, bad behaviors of journalists are occurred frequently. The image of journalists is attracted attention. How is the image of Chinese Journalists? What are the affecting factors? These issues are needed to be seriously considered in academia and industry.The main research method is questionnaire. The author had sent questionnaires to four groups in Jiangxi Province. These four groups are general public、journalism students、press contact person and the reporters.There are two focus.The first focus of the article is to describe the image of journalists. Based on the questionnaire, the article has fully sketched out the public image of journalists from reporters’working and living modality, professionalism, professional ethics, and personality traits. The second focus of the article is trying to build the impact factor system of the image of Journalists. In the end, combine with the survey results and realities, the paper has also given some suggestions to optimize the image of Journalists.The image of the journalists is good now. Especially the reporters’ professionalism is unanimously affirmed by the public. However, the public has different opinions about reporters’ working and living modality. People have a general or even low evaluation of reporters’ professional ethics and personality traits.The impact factor system of the image of journalists is including social system, media system, audience system and media technology. The social system includes political, economic and cultural which influences the image of the Journalists from the macro. The media system Contains Media properties、 Media forms、 Management methods、 organizational culture and reporters’ internal differences. These factors influence the image of journalist more directly and specific. Audience system is based on the audience differences, it influences the image of Journalist objectively and recessive. The development of media technology provides the conditions for the change of image of journalist.
