Shower bath is very helpful for human. Shower head has become a necessity in people’s daily lives. Due to the lack of national standards and backward R&D conditions in corporations, the related markets are very irregular and product development is very lag behind the market demand. Therefore, it’s essential to develop a test equipment for the comprehensive performances of shower head.In this paper, according to the analysis of the performance indices and the corresponding testing strategies, a test bench for the comprehensive performance of shower head was designed. On comparing various means of communication modes, CAN bus was chosen to be used in the control system of test bench. A control system based on CAN bus was constructed. In this initial scheme, a main node and four child nodes were included. With the research going deeper, more nodes could be added by using CAN bus’s flexible extension characteristic.CAN intelligent nodes were designed in hardware and software aspects and a simple CAN application layer protocol was developed for the system. When some nodes have large amount of data to transimit, other data in lower priorities waiting for transmission may delay an uncertain long time. The system adopted a bus scheduling scheme based on priority promotion algorithm. Upper computer PC is the regulation center and all data collected by child nodes should be passed to PC for data fusion. PC connected to CAN bus network by using HS2102PCI-CAN adapter card. Software platform in upper computer was developed by Visual C++and SQL Server. Visual C++used DLL driver program provided by HS2102for data receiving and sending. As a back-end database, SQL Server was used for data saving and managing. Visual C++adopted ADO technology to access the database. Water in the system must be precious and stable, so, a self-adaptive PID control algorithm was designed for water supplying system.The experiment proves the test system for the comprehensive performances of shower head is real-time, stable and reliable.
