In2008, the TD-SCDMA license was issued to China Mobile, TD-SCDMA industry also entered the period of the rapid development. But TD-SCDMA has a certain gap on the technology, process and maturity of the communication processors, compared with WCDMA and CDMA2000. According to the demands of CMCC, TD-SCDMA handset manufacturers not only to provide affordable low-end handsets, but also to provide high-end and high-performance mobile phones in order to meet the fast-growing demand for3G services. This requires TD-SCDMA mobile phones in solution design and product design to invest more energy and costs.Currently, the single-processor solution of TD-SCDMA mobile phone primarily is used in low-end mobile phones. The high-end and high-performance mobile phones can only use a dual-processor solution, one processor as an application processor which is run UI program and application programs. Another processor as modem of wireless communication protocol is responsible for communication between mobile phones and networks. However, in this architecture, the efficiency and reliability of communications between the application processor and modem processor will greatly affect the product performance and quality.The UART+DPRAM solution in this paper, the DPRAM as the transmission channel used to improve data transmission efficiency, at the same time, the UART as a backup channel can be used to ensure the reliability of communication, and for reducing power consumption needs of demand, the system will select UART as the transmission channel according to the service types. The solution mainly includes multiplexer layer, communication management&scheduling module, the UART driver, and DPRAM driver. The multiplexer layer provide a multiplex, connection-oriented logical channel to application layer. The communication management&scheduling module can detect the state of the physical transmission channel and schedule them. The driver module is responsible for sending and receiving of data through hardware. In this paper, we used ADI and OMAP dual-processor to realize and test this solution.The implementation of this solution will improve greatly the power control and the reliability of communication, and provides a analysis, debug method in trouble shooting. And also has a positive impact on upgrading the quality of mobile phones.
