| The development of the mobile communication technology gives an unprecedented challenge and opportunity to the telecommunications industry. All the telecom operators are thinking about how to reduce investment, reduce operation and maintenance costs, and how to face the conversion to the network of the next generation, and give more rich and colorful applications to create a profitable and sustainable business model. The current network based in the circuit switched has been unable to meet the requirement of broadband, intelligent business and operation. So the soft switch technology comes out to solve this problem in the core network. The technology of MSC Pool, to be a core technology of soft switch, has many advantages to become an important way of the organization of future core network in telecommunication in the aspects of optimizing cyber source, traffic allocation, improving network performance, network security, improving utilization of investment and others.The conversion from the network of soft switch to MSC Pool network architecture will improve the utilization of the source of the operator’s network. And the disaster recovery mechanism of the MSC Pool will ensure the security and stability of the network to providing telecom services for the mobile users.At first, the paper introduced many advantages of the MSC pool technology, and described the detail of the introduction, technology characteristics, and functions of MSC Pool technology. The pool group technology can effectively improve the capacity of the network, reduce operating costs; at the same time, flexible network management make the network and deployment more flexible efficient, and also high efficiency of the utilization of equipment resource and the network service. The paper also made a brief introduction of key issues in MSC POOL technology, such as pool group planning, called recovery scheme and MSC in POOL principle. And then the scheme of MSC POOL project and some problems we meet in the project were introduced in detail. Then the programming problems of the MSC POOL, including: pool scale, cyber source identification, MSC POOL member selection, the NAS node selection function in MSC POOL and other aspects were described in detail in the paper. The principles and implementation of the reconstruction project of MSC POOL are described in detail in the paper. And the paper gives some suggestions on the basis of the MSC POOL emergence scheme for optimizing and innovations which improved the MSC POOL user migration work. Finally, the relationship between the MSC POOL technology and design pattern of software technology were analyzed and summarized in this paper.The main result of the paper is the consequence of the improvement of many performances of MSC POOL network, including the soft switch network connection rate, CP load, VLR users, switching index and location updating request number. The paper finally validated that the performance are improving in the MSC POOL network model, and the experience are accumulated for construction and maintenance. In addition, the emergency plan of the MSC POOL was improved after the reconstruction project. The innovation of daily user migration work made new tools for the MSC POOL maintenance. These experiences are useful for the next phase of the MSC POOL reconstruction project, and improving the maintenance work of the MSC POOL to a new stage. |
