Design And Implementation Of MMS Client Based On Android

With the rapid development of mobile Internet, feature phones and SMS have been not satisfied with the need of people, most people now want to use smart phones that are an integrated information processing mobile phones. You can send and receive multimedia messaging (MMS) in smart phones. In the smartphone operating system, IOS and Android are the two major operating systems. IOS has good user-experience, but IOS phones are more expensive and not open source, so it needs high development costs for devolopers. While Android is open source and affordable, and its security stability is good, so it has occupied an important position in the smartphone operating market. Multimedia messaging service (MMS) is an important feature of the phone, the MMS software development based on Android is hot in a mobile Internet development.This thesis uses software engineering methods; first it introduces the background and significance of the mobile terminal based on the requirements of the project, including the functional requirements analysis, non-functional requirements analysis and user needs analysis. Second, it studies Android and multimedia messaging service, including Android knowledge, such as Activity, Service, Content Provider, Broadcast Reciever and Java/XML, MMS and SMS PDU, sending and recieving principles, implementations and related protocols. Then, it continues to implement the engineering practice projects, in-depth study of the multimedia messaging (MMS) client based on the Android platform. In detail, it studies a system framework for analysis and each module functions points, data storage and analysis, principles and implementation of the MMS to send and receive.In addition, the thesis shows the development results, test analysis and validation, according to the needs of project. Finally, it summarizes the lack of research work and the outlook on the future direction of research in the field.
