Along with economic development, the important role of logistics industry hasbecome increasingly prominent, the distribution center is the logistics industry’s core,whether the location of the distribution center is reasonable plays a vital role to theefficient operation of the logistics system.This article researches and improves the particle swarm optimization andWeiszfeld algorithm, and applies the improved algorithm to the competitive locationmodel of distribution center, programmed with Matlab, calculated satisfied results.The main research contents of this article are as followed:(1) The inertia weight of particle swarm optimization is improved. In view of theproblem that the linearly decreasing inertia weight of the particle swarm optimizationcannot adapt to the actual situation of particles, combine the linearly decreasing anddynamically changing inertia weight, a new particle swarm optimization withcomposite inertia weight, and determine the numerical value of the relevant parameterprogrammed with Matlab.(2) The application of Weiszfeld algorithm in the competitive location model ofdistribution center is researched. Weiszfeld algorithm has two algorithm for multiplepoints location: algorithm1and algorithm2, compare the two algorithms by Matlab,algorithm1is superior to algorithm2.(3) A new improved algorithm is presented. First optimizing the initial numericalvalue by algorithm1, and then further optimizing the numerical value by the newparticle swarm optimization with composite inertia weight.(4) Applying the new improved algorithm to the competitive location model ofdistribution center, programmed with Matlab, calculated satisfied results.The results show that the new improved algorithm of this article is logical andeffective, it can solve the competitive location model of distribution center availably.
