IP multicast is an effective mechanism to solve the group communication in the internet, with many characteristics such as low complex source; low network bandwidth consumption and small transmission delay, so researching and developing the multimedia transmission system based on the IP multicast have important application value.A video conferencing system based on IP multicast is discussed in this thesis. Based on the characteristics of it, the author puts forward a kind of an effective system architecture which can adapt to the low-bandwidth network connection and the central media server infrastructure needed in traditional video conferencing systems based on MCU is not essential. Using the lightweight directory server to complete conference management can ensure that each participant can see any other conference participants under specific configurations. Source multicast transport audio and video data and the integration of video stream is completed in the terminal, reducing the network delay greatly, therefore, the system has a good performance.This thesis describes the technical architecture of the system development and system-related agreements were analyzed to compare the performance of different transmission structure. The thesis further describes the system development platform for TAPI, describes the structure of the terminal system gives the system functional design and implementation techniques. This article Development System application test showed that the system has basically reached the design target.
