With the prosperous development of mobile communication and embedded technology, the hardware and software performance of mobile terminal are enhanced unceasingly. Mobile phones not only provide a superior user experience, also greatly improve the work efficiency and quality of life. In the using process, the phones store a large amount of important data of the users, such as contacts, calendar, SMS, etc. However, any accidents like the lost of phone, error deleting or other disoperation will lead to data missing, and the users will be in trouble. As a result, data backup of mobile terminal become a forward-looking and practicability subject. MTK, as the main provider of scheme design of feature phone, has superiorities of low cost, short development cycle and good compatibility. So it has occupied a global market. But by now, the mobile phone based on MTK still lacks a complete mature data backup system.There are many third-party applications for mobile phone to backup data. Unfortunately they are lack of excellent backup strategy or cross-platform compatibility. This paper designed a data backup system of mobile terminal, researched the fine granularity backup strategy, and provided a data format to achieve platform compatibility. Users can export the contacts or SMS according to the designed format and then store them into the local memory cards or remote servers. Meanwhile, they can also download the backup data and recover the data into the phone.The following tasks have been accomplished in this thesis:1. Considering the functional requirement, operating environment, the realistic device of mobile phone, together with the characteristics of backup data, we designed the structure of data backup system, defined the backup data format and the communication agreement to the server.2. Based on the MTK platform, this article implemented a data backup system, in which a hierarchical and modular approach was adopted to keep the maintainability and expansibility.3. To solve the problem of backup redundancy in the traditional mobile phone data backup systems, the paper put forward a fine-grained incremental backup strategy based on the measure, in which the idea of incremental backup was used to avoid the data redundancy.4. In order to reduce the cost of data transmission and improve the success rate, the paper designed and implemented the broken-point continuingly transferring strategy based on the data block division.5. Considering the data characteristics of fine granularity backup strategy, this paper proposed the right improved LZWV algorithm. The experiment results showed it had a better compression performance.
