With the progress of science and technology, and the increasing of the wireless communication data carrying capacity, the wireless communication technology continues to evolve. MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Out-put) technology refers to the structure of multi-antenna transceiver. The MIMO technology is widely used in the wireless transceiver system for its high spectrum utilization and channel capacity.RF front-end is an important part of the wireless communication system. Its performance has a direct impact on the overall performance of the communication svstem In this thesis a2.4-5GHz broadband receiver is designed, which will be applied in4×4MIMO system.The background of the project is introduced in the first chapter, including the MIMO technology, wideband receiver technology. Several basic communication structures and main parameters are briefly introduced in chapter two. According to the actual demand, the Super-heterodyne three times frequency conversion structure is adopted in this project.The system design is introduced in chapter three, including frequency mixing solution design, low noise and amplitude consistency design. Then the performances of the receiver, such as gain, noise figure, and so on, are simulated in the ADS (Advanced Design system) software. Finally, the frequency source plan and control plan are briefly introduced. Based on the chosen chips and the requirements of RF circuits design, the key unit modules are mainly described in chapter four. Then the PCB, layout, and cavity design are described. At last, some problems are listed which should be paid attention to.In chapter five, the receiver are debugged and tested. The test problems are summarized which focus on the causes of generating clutters. Finally the improvement scheme is proposed which is mainly related to the improvement of the frequency conversion plan and the design of the phase coherence.
