The main task of the security warning system is to detect the invasion or fireaccurately and give early warnings when illegal invasion occur in monitoring perimetersor important areas. Although traditional security systems based on electrical sensorswith visual function are cost-effective, they can only adapt to some special applicationenvironments, and can be easily interfered by electromagnetic sources. However, thesecurity systems based on fiber-optic sensors have advantages of resistance toelectromagnetic interference, suffering extreme environmental conditions, being passive,and transmission with long distances, and so on. But they have no vision function.Therefore, in this thesis, it is proposed an all-fiber integrated system to meet theapplication requirements. The all-fiber integrated monitoring system can obtainmulti-dimensional monitoring by integrating the advantage of fiber-optic sensors andelectrical sensors such as smog detectors and video surveillance equipments. Theproposed all-fiber security system based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) achieve remotetransmission with central network management, and it is a novel integrated securitysystem, thus it has very broad application prospects in the field of security.The work mainly includes:1) The existing security technologies are compared and analyzed, and thefiber-optic fence is also studied. It shows that fiber fence based on the FBG sensors hassignificant advantages in the field of security and the all-fiber integrated security systemhas great application requirement.2) The research on fiber-optic fence based on the FBG strain sensors is carried out,which mainly focus on the detection and identification method. A weak intrusiondetection method based on the autocorrelation characteristics of the monitoring signalswas proposed; and features of abnormal signals in both the time domain and frequencydomain are extracted to classify some common intrusion events, such as humaninvasion, suspicious fires and nuisance alarm sources. The proposed methods provide afiber-optic fence with higher Probability of Detection (PD) and lower Nuisance Alarm Rate (NAR).3) All-fiber integrated security system with long-haul optical fiber transmissionand network management was designed and developed, which includes the proposedfiber-optic fence based on FBG, a video surveillance system and smog alarm system.Both the hardware and software of the integrated system are realized.4) Both indoor and outdoor experimental are carried to verify its effectiveness ofthe proposed all-fiber integrated security system.
