Discrete Device Tester Is An Intermediary Software Design

With the rapid development of the electronic information industry and other high-tech, semiconductor discrete device industry still has a broad market prospect. As one of the important backbone of the semiconductor industry, discrete device industry is mainly constituted by design, manufacturing, packaging and testing. And the testing is the only industry that throughout the production and application of discrete device industry. That is why the testing industry has an irreplaceable role in the development of the semiconductor industry. However, most of the domestic semiconductor device manufactures use the foreign testing equipment, which ensure the quality of production definetely, but also brought a seriers of problems of rising production cost and difficult to maintain. Therefore, it is significant that research the discrete device testing equipment independently.This paper introduces a software system which running on the discrete device tester developing independent. According to the hardware structure, the software system is divided into user interface, middle-tier software and driver layer, which made the various layer has better independce. In this paper, the middle-tier software of discrete device tester, which is the link of the user interface and driver layer, including host computer side and upper computer side, is manily used for the data transmission and data processing. The middle-tier software of host computer side, designed with using VC++6.0environment combined with DDK, is responsible for the host USB driver and the download and receive processing of various data. The middle-tier software of upper computer side which is designed with ADS1.2tools is responsible for the interrupt handling of the data tranmission, and the implementation of application program of upper computer. The middle-tier software of discrete device tester, described in this paper, which make full use of computer embedded technology, electronic measurement technology and computer software technology, etc, has good portability and reliability. Which make the tester has high precision, high speed and low cost characteristic and suitable for the various semiconductor device manufacturing companies.
