The traditional development mode of DSP projects is mainly realized by programdesign according to the requirements and design standard, using the handwritten C codeor DSP assembly code. It requires the developers not only to master DSP hardwarecharacteristics and principle system, also to have the design experience of signalprocessing theory algorithm and the programming ability of DSP applicationdevelopment. This undoubtedly makes the developers distract attention from the mainissue and blocks the development speed.The Simulink and Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder tool developed byMathsworks company provides a development and test platform, which contains bothsignal processing algorithm and DSP drive source code. Using the hardware supportingmodule library as development carrier, this platform makes Project development fullybased on MATLAB and Simulink become possible.However, not all types of chip and corresponding board supported modules areintegrated by MATLAB. For custom integrated circuit boards, the board support modulelibrary needs to be designed according to the system structures of different card boardsand the characteristic and application of DSP. It then can be used in building thealgorithm model and generating code automatically.According to application of the periphery device of the DSP interface cardTMS320C6455, this paper rises a method of hardware-sofware co-simulation forSimulink algorithm, and does research and design about Target Preferences module,on-chip peripheral interface module and DSP algorithm Library usingMATLAB/Simulink/RTW EC. model of Algorithm. Compared to the traditionalhand-written code, efficiency improved significantly.First, the role, necessity and especially the expansibility of the RTW EmbeddedCoder in model design are discussed. Then, build the Target Preferences module in viewof DSP TMS320C6455, write S function and TLC files through the openness andexpansibility of RTW, and constructs DSP board-level supporting library and DSPalgorithm Library.After that, combined with RTW EC, the algorithm test model is built with the TargetPreferences module and board-level supporting library, and the application ofboard-level supporting library is verified. By using the modules in DSP algorithmLibrary, the algorithm model is generated to DSP executable code automatically andimplement hardware-software co-simulation with simulink on DSP board.The thesis has done research in the extensions of RTW automatic code generation,built the DSP related hardware and algorithm supporting library on the basis of goodtheory and use value, and implemented hardware-sofware co-simulation on C6455DSPboard. The research results can be generalized for the development and application of kinds of microprocessors and can significantly reduce the development of labor and thedesign and implementation costs.
