With the development of network technology and embedded technology, the users of the digital network radio are gradually increased. While the current network radio products are mostly Based on PC, which is unable to meet the growing needs for mobile applications. Therefore developing a portable network radio is of significant meaning. Embedded devices have such advantages such as attractive, small size, accurate positioning, low cost, stable, which are exactly in accordance with the requirements of our project.This paper proposes the implementation of internet radio based on WinCE6.0. The hardware system is developed on core chip S2C2440A which is configured with necessary peripheral equipments. The software system use WinCE6.0operating system as the software platform. By loading the necessary applications, it builds up the internet radio system. Applications are based on VS2005development environment, using the MFC framework with modular design concept. Multi-threading technology is used to increase the efficiency of the system.The major work completed in this dissertation is outlined as following:1. A custom process of WinCE6.0embedded operating system is given. The boot program of the system is optimized and boot LOGO is changed.2. A colorful graphical user interface is designed using the self-drawn control technology.3. A player is designed using ActiveX technology. The player can play both digital network radio and local audio files.4. An infrared remote control function is achieved using serial communication technology. Thus, the graphical user interface, local FM digital radio and control of iPhone/iPod can be remote controlled.5. A wireless network connection program with graphical user interface is designed using the Wi-Fi technology.Test results from hardware platform shows that the software achieves high performance of human-computer interaction and are advantageous for its attractive interface, convenience in operation, perfect user experience as well as high reliability.
