Lxi Pulse Generator Hardware Design

As a signal source in common use in automatic testing fields, LXI pulse signalgenerator not only has the function of the traditional desktop signal source, but alsopossesses the flexibility of LXI bus facility, and it is not limited by transmissiondistance any longer. Facing the diversity requirements of the practical application, themodules produced by LXI pulse generator can output stable and reliable pulse signalswhich have different signal types, a variety of working modes, and also, Pulse width,delay and level amplitude parameters of the pulse signals are continuous adjustable.Based on precise and controllable requirements of impulse frequency, pulse width,delay and level amplitude parameters in engineering application, combined with theproductized needs of project "LXI pulse generator", which undertook by UESTC. Thispaper focus on the Producing Method of pulse waveform, aiming to design theproductized LXI pulse generator reliably. To achieve these design goals: the highestfrequency of pulse signal200MHz, minimum pulse width2ns, maximum delay3us, andamplitude peak3.5V.The specific work content of this paper includes:1. Discuss the development of LXI bus facility and the significance of pulsegenerator, and work out the overall design scheme of pulse generation functionalmodule.2. Complete finishing designing the hardware circuit of pulse generation functionalmodule and FPGA sequential logical circuit, including the clock generation circuit,digital pulse generation circuits and digital pulse conditioning circuit. Outputsynthesizing pulse and burst signals under three operating modes, achieving thecontinuous adjustment of pulse width, signal delay and Level parameter index.3. Introduce the reliability design of pulse generator.4. Introduce the way of circuit debugging and circuit testing, test the completemachine and analyze the results. At present, LXI pulse generator has completed earlyprototype design, and each function index has met its expectations.
