China is a large agricultural country. Along with the development of intelligent informationtechnology, agricultural information technology plays an inestimable role in agricultural production inChina, especially the agricultural expert system.This paper, taking watermelon grow for example,completed the research and development work about agricultural expert system which meets the needs ofthe development of agriculture.This paper lays emphasis on the research of agricultural expert system hardware platform based onARM10chip microprocessors and analyzes the function of each relevant module circuit, principle,purposes in detail;discusses the feasibility of the idea about how to design and realize based on the threelayer network model and then expounds the role which technology about component and functionalcomponents play in expert system. this paper utilizes the vivid interface to demonstrate the function andframework of this system.Combined with the characteristics of watermelon grow in reality, this paper laysemphasis on the research of algorithm based on the production rules of knowledge representation method,then design in detail rules about the knowledge representation and the maintenance methods of knowledge,finally points out some problems and solutions in the process of construction and operation of knowledge.research how to use role MAQA algorithm and the model clustering algorithm method to acquireknowledge from knowledge base and finally designs algorithm about how to reasoning using acquiredknowledge under two cases of certainty and uncertainty.this paper completes the overall commissioningand operation of agricultural expert system, successfully developed a agricultural expert systemdevelopment platform which is scheme, components, intelligent, civilian and easy to operate.Practice shows that the portable agricultural expert system is stable and reliable, so it is a high-techintelligent tool which is easy to generalize and operate for agricultural scientific research personnel andfarmers, in a word, it plays a tremendous role in watermelon production.
